STEP #1 - Purchase Your Professional Liability Insurance
You would have received an email from ProLink on November 4 containing YOUR PERSONALIZED link to be able to purchase your insurance coverage. Completing your insurance purchase will take approximately 10 minutes.
If you did not receive a personalized link, use the following link to complete the contact form (approximately 10 minutes to complete): https://www.prolink.insure/cka/
Your completed form will be sent to our insurance provider, ProLink, who will input your information into their system and a link will be emailed to you to purchase your insurance coverage with 24-48 hours. If your application is not flagged for review you will receive an email containing your new documentation (Receipt, Policy Documents and Certificate of Insurance).
Insurance is required only for AKA Membership. Insurance is not required for Student, Affiliate, or Go Inactive Memberships.
If your application is not flagged for review you will receive an email containing your new documentation (Receipt, Policy Documents and Certificate of Insurance).
Membership Renewal Fee
- November 30 - December 31 = $195
- January 1 - January 30 = $275
- February 1 onward: *Expired membership fee* of $100 and reapplication required.
- To process, please email: Info@albertakinesiology.ca
Expired memberships beyond January 30 of the given renewal year, you must provide proof of previous membership and pay a $100 reactivation fee prior to renewing your active membership status. You must pay renewal fees once your reactivation fee and proof of previous membership have been accepted. This is implemented as a means to prevent any kinesiologists from practicing without an active membership status and null and void insurance.
In order to pay this fee:
1) Please e-transfer $100 (CAD): email@example.com
2) In your e-transfer, please add note: Reactivate expired membership
NOTE: Once your e-transfer has been sent, a confirmation email will be sent within 2-3 business days.
Maternity Leave/Extended Absence
If you are a practicing kinesiologist registered with the AKA, you can change your membership status to inactive if you are planning to go on a maternity leave or extended absence. This will prevent you from having to re-apply as an expired membership and face a $100 reapplication fee. This fee is set in place to prevent any kinesiologists from practicing without an active membership status and null and void insurance.
Those wishing to change their active membership status to inactive will receive a free inactive membership and refund on their membership dues as follows:
$100 from Jan – March
$50 from April – August
$0 from August – Dec
An inactive membership maintains its status until the member decides to reactive their account upon renewal.
