Dylan Brown is a full-time Kinesiology Instructor at the University of Lethbridge, a CSEP Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and NCCP Coach in Distance Running. Dylan’s background as a Registered Kinesiologist in Ontario prior to moving to Alberta blends academic teaching and clinical practice. He holds a Master of Human Kinetics from Laurentian University, a Graduate Diploma in Professional Kinesiology from Lakehead University, and an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from the same institution.


Since 2021, Dylan has served as an Instructor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Lethbridge, where he teaches core upper-year courses including Exercise Physiology, Fitness and Lifestyle Assessment, and Growth, Development and Aging. His teaching style emphasizes applied learning and the translation of kinesiology research into effective practice. Dylan is committed to mentoring emerging exercise professionals and helping students build both technical competence and professional confidence.


Prior to joining the University of Lethbridge, Dylan taught across a range of kinesiology-related subjects at Laurentian University and CTS Canadian Career College, contributing to courses in anatomy, physiology, weight training, biomechanics, human movement, and health education. These diverse experiences strengthened his ability to communicate complex concepts to learners at multiple stages of professional development.


As a former practicing Registered Kinesiologist (R.Kin) in Ontario, Dylan has an extensive background in exercise rehabilitation and functional movement assessment. He worked clinically delivering individualized exercise therapy to clients across a wide spectrum of abilities and health conditions. His clinical practice included supporting individuals with musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, motor vehicle accident–related trauma, chronic pain, and cardiovascular diseases. Dylan’s approach integrates movement quality, progressive exercise programming, and client-centred goal setting.


Dylan is an engaged member of the kinesiology profession, holding certifications including Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology – Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Functional Range Conditioning, Soft Tissue Release, Functional Movement Screening, First Principles of Movement, and GLA:D Canada Hip/Knee Osteoarthritis. His continued pursuit of professional development reflects his belief in lifelong learning and best-practice care. In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dylan maintains an active presence in sport as an endurance coach. He currently serves as Assistant Coach for the Lethbridge Polytechnic Cross-Country and Indoor Track program, supporting athlete development in middle- and long-distance events. Across teaching, clinical work, coaching, and research, Dylan Brown’s career centers on one goal: improving human health and performance through movement grounded in science, compassion, and professional integrity.
