Sharon grew up in northern Alberta and had the opportunity to move to Edmonton to complete her bachelors of kinesiology. Since graduating in 2023, she has worked as a kinesiologist primarily focusing on workers safety, by completing MSK assessments and developing workplace modifications. She is also passionate about health promotion and innovations in healthcare, specifically injury prevention and healthcare experiences of people living in rural communities.
Sharon originally became interested in kinesiology because she loved the idea of injury prevention. Throughout her degree, she continued to see how multifaceted kinesiology is, with a large scope of practice that relies heavily on continuing education to optimize a kinesiologist's potential. This sparked her interest in continuing education, which led her to regularly take continuing education courses and complete her audiometric and spirometry technician certifications.
In her spare time she spends time with her dog (puppy under a year old), going for walks, and attempting to teach her tricks, along with spending time with family and friends.
