Covid Update

Additional COVID-19 public health messures.

On May 5th, 2021 additional COVID-19 public health measures were implemented as Alberta entered a critical stage of the pandemic. Upon review of the Alberta Government's Public Helath Measures, Kinesiologists must identify if they reside in High Case Regions (PDF Download) for these updated restrictions to apply. A summarized list of restrictions is as follows:

  • Kinesiologists (PT, OTs, etc.) can remain open by appointment only as long as public health orders and sector guidance is followed. Appointments should be limited to one-on-one services.

General notes:

  • "Working from home is mandatory unless the employer requires the employee's physical presence to operate effectively."

  • "Home-based businesses should follow the restrictions for the type of service they provide.

To report non-compliance to COVID-19 Restrictions please click here.

We still recommend that all Kinesiologists continue to provide all “non emergent” services through means of an online delivery strategy where possible; however, when reopening, we encourage all of our members to follow the guidelines developed by our Privacy Officer: Guidance for Resuming Kinesiology (click to download). Further, when managing clients during the reopening, we strongly encourage all Kinesiologists to utilize our COVID-19 Screening Tool to increase safety among you and your staff. We believe that these documents are comprehensive and will provide our members with all  the necessary information needed to safely return to work.

We wish you all good health and safety at this time. If there is anything further that we can do to support you, or if you have any questions, please contact us at:

Yours in health,
